sjiwff presents Scene and Heard

Since 2008, the Scene and Heard industry series has grown from a single film screening to recognize International Women’s Day to a multi-day series of artist-driven panels, training sessions, film screenings and networking events for filmmakers and local audiences alike. 

Building on our annual October film festival and Forum, Scene and Heard again brings the best and brightest of the Canadian and international film industry to St. John’s to establish meaningful relationships with local luminaries and share exciting new films. 

We’re delivering all the same great Scene and Heard programming – but this year, it takes place virtually! Audiences across Canada can watch movies online from the comfort of home. Plus, a series of seven free candid online discussions with film industry professionals will be available for a global audience.
