There is a new normal, small business has never been more important to Newfoundland and Labrador. Small business success is everybody's business, and every business needs a buddy.
Small business has a special friend in CBDCs.
CBDC stands for Community Business Development Corporation and they are 'boots on the ground'. CBDCs operate throughout Atlantic Canada and help businesses get started, grow, and get through obstacles that can come between business and business success. They set up programs of support in response to current events and opportunities.
There are CBDCs in 15 different regions of the province, each with specific programs tailored to the area.
Programs include:
- Help to navigate investment programs
- Loans
- Counselling
- Training
- Networking
- Buying/Selling your business listing
They're backed by the federal government but work hard to ensure non-red-tape service for entrepreneurs at all stages of the business from start-up to export. The people are easy to talk to, friendly and helpful.
