Newfoundland Cranberry Sauce

  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • fresh or frozen cranberries
  • orange zest
  • Pinch salt

Bring juice, water and sugar to boil. Add cranberries, orange zest, salt and return to a boil.

Reduce the heat to medium and boil gently until most of cranberries have burst open (10-12 min)
