This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs Department of Employment and Social Development Act (DESDA).  Candidates must be 30 years of age or under to be eligible.

  • Location: St. John’s, Newfoundland (in office or from remote location)
  • Salary:  $14.65 per hour
  • Hours:  30 hours per week
  • Start/End:  July 12, 2021 - August 23 2021 

thegreenrock.ca – Live Sustainably NL is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of, and promoting sustainable living practices through action projects and the social enterprise start-up Guide to the Good. 

Guide to the Good is a searchable, member-based content hub that uses digital marketing and human relations to promote local, social and green choices and to promote healthy, flourishing people and communities in Newfoundland and Labrador. 

Information Coordinator

The Information Coordinator lays groundwork for cultural growth in our corporate culture as they work with the team to support local, social and green choices.  The Information Co-ordinator will help thegreenrock.ca ~ Live Sustainably NL prioritize underrepresented groups and communities, and ensure they show up authentically and realistically in Guide to the Good.  Working with members of Guide to the Good, team members, and the greater community, the Information Coordinator will reach out to, meet with, and become familiar with best collaborative practice for sharing stories and conveying voices of under-represented communities. They will develop Digital Skills to develop, track, record and publish content.

Working with g2g members and the greater community, the Information Coordinator will help plan, coordinate, publish and promote content that recognizes and integrates diversity and inclusivity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Researching and recording the breadth and diversity of underrepresented populations
  • Recording best practices for collaborative, inclusive companies
  • Reaching out these communities to build relationships and learn about how Guide to the Good can employ best practices that support and encourage Inclusive and Diverse action community-wide
  • Developing content to integrate with existing Guide to the Good initiatives, or develop new ones to share, celebrate, inform, educate and demonstrate Inclusivity and Diversity in practice
  • Evaluate efforts, and build relationships that set the foundation for long-term growth and collaboration.
  • Considering Guide to the Good member offerings - trainings, newsletters, communications - through lens of diversity and inclusion lens

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate is eager to work with a social enterprise, great at record keeping, and wants to learn and practice outreach and communication to influence change. They are organized, enthusiastic, outgoing, creative, and have a passion for people, community, and collaboration.

Qualifications: 

    • Student of Sociology, Political Science or another related field
    • Vision and understanding on diversity and inclusion issues from local and global perspectives.
    • Kind, friendly and interested in contributing to and learning from this organization
    • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Confident, enjoys talking with and working with people with different viewpoints
