This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs Department of Employment and Social Development Act (DESDA).  Candidates must be 30 years of age or under to be eligible.

  • Location: St. John’s, Newfoundland (in office or from remote location)
  • Salary:  $16.00 per hour
  • Hours:  35 hours per week
  • Start/End:  May 31, 2021 - July 12, 2021   (six weeks with possibility of extension through Information Coordinator contract) – Live Sustainably NL is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of, and promoting sustainable living practices through action projects and the social enterprise start-up Guide to the Good. 

Guide to the Good is a searchable, member-based content hub that uses digital marketing and human relations to promote local, social and green choices and to promote healthy, flourishing people and communities in Newfoundland and Labrador. 

Media Coordinator

Working closely with the CEO, the Media Coordinator will use multi-media content and outreach to uplift, celebrate, position and promote local, social and green choices for lifestyle and purchase through the Guide to the Good platform. 

Working with g2g members and the greater community, the Media Coordinator will plan, coordinate, gather, create, edit, publish, promote content (video, text, images) on the Guide to the Good platform, social media channels, and other digital technologies.  They will evaluate with metrics.  Content includes: 

  • Video & Livestream features
  • Profiles (g2g member stories)
  • Blogs (stories about biking, planting trees,
    living sustainably)

Responsibilities include:

  • Working independently and accomplishing objectives in a team-based environment 
  • Creating and publishing content on a wide variety of media
  • Reaching out to the community
  • Helping/Planning write, direct, and produce videos and/or livestream
  • Evaluating campaigns to measure performance
  • Travel to locations for content creation and/or livestream

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate is eager to work with a social enterprise and practice digital skills to influence change. They are organized, enthusiastic, outgoing, creative, have a passion for community, and know about creating content, metrics, social media, and posting to the back end of the web.   


  • Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, English, or another related field
  • Vision and understanding on local, social and green issues from local and global perspectives.
  • Kind, friendly and interested in contributing to and learning from this organization
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Confident, enjoys talking with and working with people with different viewpoints 
  • Familiar with Analytics tools
